Check this out.
Old fashioned movie theatre style popcorn machines, fondue machines, nacho
cheese maker carts, cotton candy machines, and other great stuff. Now
if you buy this stuff, think how random that would be, to have a rotating
liquor shot dispenser of hotsauce, vanilla extract, or vodka, or all of
the above, in your living room! Not everybody has a snowcone machine in
their garage. Buy this and I can make money to help pay for my website,
or even college. Or at least a bowl of soup.

---But it was just sitting there!
The city of Indianapolis has a problem, dozens, to be exact. Thieves
have been stealing 300 pound manhole covers to sell to scrap yards. Replacing
these glorified lids costs the city from $300 to $2000, but the danger
in open manholes presents another risk, as the holes range from 4 feet
to 30 feet deep. So if you're anything like the man in the story below,
stay away from Indianapolis. AP

---Happy
New Year from Typicallyrandom.com! Bring on da 2005!
---I have decided to give a game
of the year of the world from Typicallyrandom.com. And, the Game of the
year for 2005 is.....Farcry. Farcry is a First Person shooter which has
a long campaign mode. Though the multiplayer isnt great, the game itself
is awesome. It came out of nowhere this year. The storyline was good,
the graphics awesome, and the game. Half Life 2 may have been absolutely
awesome, but it should have come out in 2003. It was hyped up way too
much to deserve the Game of the Year award. Farcry it is, congrats Ubisoft.

Week Old Kitten Unharmed After 440km Ride Next to Car Engine ---
Elisabeth and Dieter Gesehl, after a 440km (that's 275 miles!) car trip
in Germany, were notified by a kitten's mews of its presence next to their
car engine. They only heard the cat after parking the car. "First
of all we called the police as we feared for a moment that we must have
run over and seriously injured a cat," remarked Mrs. Gesehl, but
they soon found out that the kitten was unharmed and back to normal (or
as normal as it ever will be) after being comforted for a few minutes.
The couple adopted the cat and named her "Pussy." ---Amazing
that such a young and fragile creature can survive an ordeal such as that
unharmed.

of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug
paraphernalia. The couple is being held at the Bay County Jail on $17,500
bond. Makes you wonder....

---NY School Bus Driver
Fired for Discussion of Stem Cells---42 Year old Julianne Thompson
was fired from her job in New York for sharing some statistics about stem
cell research with some students on the first of November, the day before
the election. Thompson told the Buffalo News, a local newspaper, that
she learned from an interview with Mel Gibson that she had read stated
that 20 years of embryonic stem cell research had not cured any diseases
and that adult stem cell research has cured 300. Thompson says that she
shared that with her pupils. Parents complained, and she was fired because
school employees are not allowed to discuss politics with students. Hmm...if
that's the case, then most of the teachers at my school should have been
fired long ago. Full

---Happy Thanksgiving. Remember

---Black Friday sales tomorrow.
The Friday after Thanksgiving is the busiest shopping day of the year,
and also when sales are a plenty. Check newspaper ads and set your alarm
clock. This "Black Friday" is not referring to the one that
set off the Great Depression, but rather when the stores begin to use
black ink to show profit, instead of the red to show loss. I guess the
sales are a way of, ya know, giving back to the customers.

---Exploding what???
The Consumer Product Safety Commision (CPSC) has recieved 83 reports of
exploding cell phones over the past two years. Though a rare occurence,
this could be a problem... 13 year old Michael Sathre was picking up his
fully charged Verizon LG phone when it exploded by his side. His father
Curtis Sathre said it sounded like a bomb going off. The family chose
not to sue, but is allowing a consumer group and the involved companies
to come to their home and study the damage. The epidemic is not limited
to Verizon and LG, but a Motorola phone spontaneously combusted in Philedalphia,
this phone/battery combo was even bought at a nearby Nextel store. Most
of the problems are caused by bad batteries and uncertified chargers.
83 out of about 170 million isnt too bad of a record, but it only takes
one to cause emotional scarring and a new payphone customer. :looks at

---De Ja' Vu? Russian Sues
McDonalds for Coffee Spill Burn---Nearly 15 years after McDonalds
comes to Russia, a Moscow resident has sued McDonalds over 1st and 2nd
degree burns over...a cup of coffee. Olga Kuznetsova is claiming 400 roubles
(~$13) for medical costs and 100,000 roubles (~$3200) for "moral"
damages. According to the 37 year old woman, she was opening a door with
one hand and carrying a tray in the other, apparently the door slammed
and hit her and her coffee spilled all over her, causing second and first
degree burns. She asked McDonalds employees for help but they only brought
towels and ice, as they were out of ointment. In a U.S. case in 1994,
a woman recieved $2.7 million dollars, but that number was later reduced
to $480,000 for damages caused when a cup spilled on her lap. The first
McDonalds store opened in Russia in 1994, while Moscow was still the capitol
of the Soviet Union, despite high prices by local standards, McDonalds
is widely popular in Russia.

--- 86 years ago today,
in 1918, World War I ended, the armistice was signed on the 11th hour,
of the 11th day, of the 11th month in the year. Approximately 9 million
soldiers were left dead and 21 million wounded, about 5 million civilians
died from starvation, disease or exposure. At first this day was known
as Armistice Day, but nowadays, it is known as Veterans Day, a day to
honor and thank every veteran, be the veteran of World War I or of Operation
Iraqi Freedom or just serving at home or in other nations. If you are

from Alzheimer's Disease for 10 years. He served 2 terms as President

be remembered fondly by most.
:---60 Years Ago Today---1944:
The final preparations for D-day were underway. 5000 bombs were dropped
by 1000 Allied bombers on German positions in the Normandy area. Dummy
invasions were performed in order to draw the Germans away from the actual
invasion point.

:---60 Years Ago Today---
1944: German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel leaves for Germany to celebrate
his wife's birthday, 2 days before the invasion of Normandy by the Allies.
His absence was beneficial to the Allies. By the time he returns to Normandy
late on June 6, 1944, the Atlantic wall had been breached.
:---64 Years Ago Today---
1940: The Allied forces finished their evacuation from Dunkirk on the
Belgian coast. The evacuation had an unexpected success, saving 338,000
Allied troops from capture by the Nazis. All kinds of boats were used
for the evacuation, including civilian vessels. The troops that were evacuated
would later play a major role in WWII.
:---62 Years Ago Today --
1942: The Battle of Midway began. Japanese Admiral Chuichi Nagumo who
was the commander of the fleet that attacked Pearl Harbor 6 months before,
launched a raid on the Island of Midway with almost their entire fleet.
Three of the four Japanese Carriers at Midway were sunk and the fourth,
the Hiryu, before being crippled, destroyed one of the American Carriers
with its planes. Midway was a disaster for the Japanese, with a loss of
322 aircraft, 3500 men, and 3 carriers.

:---60 Years Ago Today--American
bombers of the Fifteenth Air Force launched Operation Frantic. The bombers
would take off from southern Italy and land in Russia. The objective to
cripple the German war economy. The plan was to destroy German factories
in Romania, Hungary, and Silesia. The plan of taking off in Italy and
Landing in Russia was called shuttle bonbing.
Also, on the same day, the D-Day invasion of Normandy France was changed
from the 4th to the 5th*, this message was intercepted party by the Germans
and a German General, General Karl von Rundstedt, was convinced that 4
consecutive days of good weather would be needed for the invasion, and
thus, believed that the invasion would not take place in the first week
of June....
* The invasion was later postponed to the 6th due to weather.

more illegal music sharers. Over 3,000 people have been sued by the RIAA,
over 400 have settled with the RIAA with settlements averaging to about
$3000. Now I ask you file sharers this: Is it worth the risk? Would you
rather pay $13 for a new CD or steal it and possibly end up paying $3000

Google, while testing their new GMail service, which will give
users 1 Gigabyte of email space for free, found that they had a bug that
increased the storage space from 1 Gigabyte to 1 Terabyte, which is equivalent
to 1000 gigabytes. This is about the equivalent of playing DVD movies
for 16 days continuously. Lycos and Yahoo both have increased their email
service, but google looks better in my opinion, with 10 times the space
of the free yahoo accounts, and costing less than the Lycos one. Sure
they base ads on content of email but I have found that I get UBERSPAM
on my yahoo account, about 90% Viruses. As long as you have nothing to

permanent ban, which was approved by the House.
In 1998, the state and local taxes on the internet connection services
were banned. The ban was ineffective while lawmakers tried to rewrite
it to cover wireless and fast connections, usually called broadband. The
Senate Thursday voted for a four year ban 93-3. (FULL

---I bought 2 new monitors from
the local Gateway store yesterday, $42 each + tax. They are 17" CRTs,
black. They look a lot better than the beige ones they're replacing...I
also scored two Monster Cables, RCA, Video, audio and audio, for $10 each.
Went to bestbuy, and some half the length of these ones were $70. As you
may or may not know, Gateway is closing all their retail stores, and laying
off 2500 employees.

Typicallyrandom is a site that will be dedicated to bringing you randomness.
Yes, I know, most great sites have some kind of theme that will keep it
cool, this one...wont...but it will still be cool.
I plan on having some videos, photo albums, reviews, tips, forums, and
other great things here.
Penguins are cool, but they are already a mascot of Linux, so for now,
you will have to be satisfied with a dead jellyfish on a rocky beach in
Washington. Jellyfish dont make good housepets IMO.
