Have you ever had your hands get hot when you are gaming? Have you wished
to have some air circulation around your hands while going ironman at
the LAN party but cant grip your coffee cup or Mountain Dew can because
your hand is so sweaty? Are you sick of the boring red LED mice that are
out there? Well the Xenix Blue LED Fan Mouse, at first glance and judging
by the product description may seem like the perfect choice, well...you'd
best think again....
Looks: 9/10
This is a beautiful mouse! the blue LEDs light it up very nicely and you
can see the thing in a dark room easily, it's a great eye catcher, the
mouse wheel lights up evenly and looks very nice. But I think a picture
will prove my point better. What the picture doesnt show is that in a
dark room, the sensor LED flashes, see any other non cordless optical
mouse, now imagine the whole right side of the mouse doing that, gets
a bit irritating when you are laying in bed, but that's not really that
big an issue, what bugs me is that there is no switch to turn the lights
off. But don't get me wrong, it does look pretty sweet.

Feel: 5/10
This mouse does feel pretty nice, but the switch for the fan on the left
side is very rough and uncomfortable on the thumb. Turning the wheel feels
pretty nice but the wheel mouse button is extremely stiff and hard to
hold down. The black fabric grip thingees on the left and right buttons
feel pretty nice, but the adhesive wore out for me in a matter of two
or three weeks. The fan is very loud, probably about as loud as an electric
shaver or toothbrush. Low is about like a cell phone on vibrate sitting
on a mouse pad. Both fan modes make the mouse vibrate, which get's annoying
pretty fast.
Conclusion: 6/10
This mouse looks beautiful, but with the stiff buttons, loud fan, poor
adhesives, and vibration, I can't say I recommend this mouse. Another
con is that this thing needs a mouse pad on my wooden
desk, whereas the optical mouse I got for free after rebate at Compusa
does need a mousepad.
