Sanctus Real Fight
The Tide If I were stranded in a desert with a solar powered CD Player and one Album, Sanctus Real's 2004 album titled Fight the Tide is the album that I would listen to. The tunes are catchy, the lyrics are filled with a message, though I tried breaking down the message of each song, I am sure there is more. These guys are good! Track 1 is titled "Everything About You" it's a worship song about how everything about God is perfect and how God's love is everywhere. Track 2, titled "The Fight Song" is a good song that appears to be an apology between the artist and a friend. It relates how he does not want to fight over small things and hurt his friend. It is also pointed out that the fault does not lie completely in the artist and he points out that it was wrong to make a big deal of the small issues. But then he goes on to say that he forgives his friend and also wants forgiveness. The tune of the song is catchy, the lyrics are good, and the message to forgive your friends when they wrong you is good. Track 3, titled "Alone" is the title song to this album. It is a love song so to speak, the artist is singing to somebody and promising that he will be willing to "fight the tides to be together" and instructs his friend that "when you feel alone, listen to this song to make your heart feel better." It may be a song from God's perspective saying how God will do anything to be with us and a reminder of how much he loves us. Either way it's a great song with an energetic beat and great lyrics. Track 4, titled "Things Like You," it's about how we try to store up material wealth and that's not what this life is about. We are reminded to "Go and take a look at the flowers and the birds, God is always taking care of nature's every need, and how much more important in The Father's eyes are we?" The message essentially is to not be jealous of what others have and not to worry about life, because God will take care of us. This song has a great message expressed very well with the catchy tune, energetic beat and great lyrics. Track 5, titled, "Closer," is a worship song about how the artist just wants to get closer to God. The lyrics are good, the tune catchy, the instruments and lyrics blend well to create a great song. Track 6, titled, "Change Me" is a worship song about how we want to please God and don't want to do anything to make him angry or frustrated with us. The artist admits that we need God's grace and that we want God to change us. Track 7 is titled "The Show," is a catchy worship song about how God is great, better than anything. Catchy tune, great lyrics, upbeat song...great message. Track 8, titled "Message" is a song about how Christians are not going to back down from our faith, we plan on spreading the message no matter what the cost. Track 9, titled "Deeds" is a song about how we need to have Deeds as well as faith, not just one or the other. Probably based on James 2: 24 You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. and Ephesians 2: 8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast. The tune is catchy, the beat energetic and the lyrics and message are convicting. Track 10 is titled "You Can't Hide" and it's about how no matter where we are, we will never be alone, even if there are no people around, God will be there, if you try to hide, God will still be there. The tune is catchy, message encouraging and the beat is energetic. Track 11 is titled "Where Will They Go" is a song about how we as Christians feel when we don't take the chance to witness to somebody. It's asking God to show us how to deal with our fears and to have courage to be a witness and the confidence to say the right thing. Track 12 is called "Say Goodbye" appropriately titled as it is the last song on the album other than the hidden track. It is slower than the other songs, but it is still good. It's sort of a good bye to a friend, and the way it's on the album, it's sort of saying goodbye to their fans. Good cool down song. Melodic lyrics and good beat. Track 13 is the hidden track, titled "Everything About You [Alternate Version] after the last song, there is about a 4 minute break between the last song and this one, it is essentially the same song as the first song, but the accompaniement instruments are different, it's somewhat calmer than the other version. Still good though. All in all Fight the Tide is a great album that I would recommend buying, the songs are catchy and energetic and all of them have a great message. This CD would be a great addition (or start) to your CD collection. It is well worth the $9.97 it costs at MusiChristian.comBuy Sanctus Real Fight the Tide Back to Articles |
